Samanta Sahu

Dr Samanta Sahu is Associate Professor (Political Science) in the G B Pant Social Science Institute (University of Allahabad), Prayagraj.

Prior to the present assignment, he was associated with the Dept. of Political Science, Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Arunachal Pradesh; the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad; NIRD&PR, Hyderabad; and the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad in different capacities.

He earned his PhD from the Dept. of Political Science at the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad working on ‘urban water policy and politics in India’ broadly within the ambit of governance and public policy. He has several research publications both at the national and international level broadly within the ambit of governance and public policy issues. Dr Sahu, to his credit has co-edited three volumes on Water Governance; Corruption in India; and Issues of Development in North-east India published by prestigious national level publishers.

He has completed several externally funded research studies, one being financially supported by the Institute of Water Policy, LKY School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, Singapore. He was earlier selected for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Advance Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru and a Research Award for teachers by the UGC, New Delhi.

His areas of interests are; Urban Studies, Water Issues, Governance and Public Policy Issues, Corruption, e-Governance and Civil Society.
